Saturday

Pretty good day for the Saturday after. I actually got some computer work done today and didn't sleep the day away.

Steve picked up the new car and it's been parked in the garage since. We did have a minor discussion about where we are going to keep the reusable grocery bags. "I" like them in the interior so that I can remember to take them into the store with me. Having them on the inside REALLY bugs Steve. I don't know why but he is like that sometimes. So being the good wife that I am I tossed them in the trunk, which is where he wanted them. Sooner or later, SINCE IT IS MY CAR, they will end up on the inside and more than likely he will get over it.

I did get out to get some fresh air this afternoon and went with the boys on the afternoon walk. Didn't even have to quit early.

Took a Jacuzzi after dinner and am now watching the Eagles. Not sure I'll make to the end. Have a good rest of the weekend.

Friday Jan 8

Woke up with a dusting of snow on the ground. Took Paxton out at 7:30 and all he did was want to run in the snow the entire time. I think he ran for 3/4 of the 1 mile walk. Maybe he'll take a good nap this morning instead of following me around.

Steve said he was feeling better this morning but was again kind enough to watch T.V. downstairs last night and then to sleep upstairs in the guest room. At least that room gets used for something. This morning I clorox wiped everything that I thought he may have touched. I know, I know, some think I'm becoming too much like Howard Hughes. Oh well, better safe than sorry in my book.

Got my main living area cleaned this morning and then ran to Kroger. My neighbor called and asked me to lunch so we went out and I had a liverwurst sandwich with mustard. YUM!!!
Came home and took a 45 minute nap and then took Paxton out again for the afternoon walk. It was windy and cold. I put a pot of chili on and made cornbread for dinner. That also was really good.

Steve is feeling better but not 100%. One more night in the guest room.

Christmas Present Book Review: The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Takes place in Mississippi in the early 1960's. It's basically about a couple of key families and the maids that serve them. This was a great book, one that I was sorry to have ended. I would highly recommend. Thanks to Valerie (and Ross) for the wonderful gift.

Thursday one day after

Things were very good today. I woke up with pink cheeks, looking very healthy, until I remember that this usually happens the day after the treatment but doesn't last long.

I had to go to the bank today to pick up the title for my car so that we can pick up the new one on Saturday. I also stopped at Target. Got out of there without buying anything. Wanted to do the grocery shopping so that Steve doesn't have to do it on Saturday so I stopped at Walmart. Not a great day as they were busy stocking the shelves. I did get what I needed though.

Did some housekeeping, washing and ironing. Wanted to read this afternoon but fell asleep. MOst of the time reading does that to me.

Steve came home early today and said that he's not feeling well. He woke up last night with a scratchy throat and went upstairs to sleep which was nice of him. I must have been sleeping really well because I didn't even know that he was gone. This afternoon he didn't have any symptoms yet (sneezing, etc) but also told me when he traveled at the beginning of the week he met with someone that had a cold. He was also on 4 planes and DIDN'T take any hand sanitizer with him. We'll see what happens this week. I certainly don't want to end up with something when I'm so close to seeing the end of all of this.

Spent an hour outside with Paxton this afternoon. 40% felt so nice and I kept running into to neighbors to talk to. Looks like another cold spell is coming though.

5 Down and 1 To Go

Well I made it through another treatment. It was kinda iffy with the White blood cell count. It is supposed to be a minimum of 3. Mine was a 2.6 today BUT the growing white cells number was good so they decided to go ahead. So I seem to hovering around the 2-3 number lately. Just means I always have to be careful not to be around sick people. Not much longer!!!!

My visit with the Doctor went well. My C-125 number that is supposed to be between 0-35 was a 25. This was a number gotten from a test on my 4th treatment visit. So I am now is the normal range. I also found out about follow-up. It goes something like this: Visit Dr: every 2 months for 6 months, every 3 months for 6 months or 2 years (can't remember what he said as he went through it very quickly) and then every 6 months (I think) until I turn "104". Once that happens he said they would turn me loose. So looks like I've found a new best friend.

Only one needle stick today plus the one to draw blood. YEAH!!

I got a new I-Pod Touch for Christmas so I listened to a montage of music today so I didn't have to hear all of the "my situation" stories for 5 hours. My montage consisted of: Enya, Il Divo, and Eurythmics.

Since I had to take drugs last night at midnight and again at 6 a.m. I didn't sleep very well. I tried to take a nap at therapy when they gave me the Benadryl but that wasn't happening either. So after I got home and took Paxton for a walk I layed on the couch and I was out at 4:30 and woke up at 6:00. We'll see if I'm able to go to sleep tonight.

Have a great rest of the week. Oh by the way, I'm getting a new car on Saturday; 2010 Volvo C70 convertible, bright red.
