SNOWWWWW Day

It has been snowing ALL day. We have about a foot of snow. Paxton had a hard time with his walk this afternoon as his legs were not long enough. But he had a good time running. We just had to get all of the ice balls off of his fur when we got home.

It was a good day to be lazy on the couch. We did get a few small jobs done in the house that have been on our list but we both took a couple of naps and just spent the day taking it easy. I'm hoping this is my "tired" day and the weather has nothing to do with it.

Steve mixed up a batch of cookies to take to his Dad this week and I baked them. Just waiting for them to cool so that I can put them away and head to the bed to hopefully get close to finishing the sweater that I'm knitting.

They are supposed to come plow the streets tonight. It's be great if they would so the dog walk tomorrow will be easier. Hope you all are enjoying our nice dry weather. IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS IN VIRGINIA.

Day 1 Later

Feeling pretty good today.

Major accomplishment. I went to my old hairdresser, Theresa, and had my head shaved. It actually looks better than it did before. I was happy with the decision and she did it for FREE!!! She said the hair around my ears would probably drive me crazy in about a month and that I'll go back and get it trimmed. She is going to keep the ears and back short while the top grows out. I bought some shampoo and conditioner: for noticeably thinning hair. I guess you could say that I have that. It's supposed to add thickness and strengthen the hair shaft. I'll see if it works. A lady who has lost her hair twice and apparently who newly growing hair look great.

I took a picture of the before and after. If I can figure out how to post them I'll share!!! Scary thing.

I went to Trader Joes, Home Goods, Walmart and Sur La Table after my haircut. I got home at about 2:30. I took Paxton for a walk for about 45 minutes. It was about 55 degrees and sunny so we took advantage of it. Tomorrow it is supposed to start snowing and last until Saturday. They are saying we are going to be getting 8-12 inches, AGAIN !!!!! YUK.

Bad weather will give me plenty of in house time to figure out how to post pictures.

Last Chemo Treatment

Today was the day, the last day!!!! Things went well. My WBC count was at 2.6 but the Dr. gave the order to go ahead and give it (It's supposed to be at 3). Only had to be stuck twice; once for the lab work and once for the chemo. The chemo needle was put in my left hand today so it was much easier to get things done (knitting). Four out of the six times it was in my right hand and NOT very convenient. Not too long of a day. Arrived at 8:30 and left at 2:30. I-Pod song melange today was Enya, The Brandenburg Suites, and Coldplay. I tried to take a nap but never really fell asleep. I stayed up until midnight to take my meds and then woke at five to visit the john and never went back to sleep. I got up at 6, took more meds and got into the shower. I thought I'd be able to get a few winks but I guess I'll hit the hay earlier this evening.

Took Paxton for a walk at 7:00 and saw the sun come up. It was very peaceful, didn't see anyone. When I got home I took Paxton for another walk with the neighborhood pups. He was very energetic, probably because he was in the crate all day.

Quote of the day from one of the ladies at chemo: "All of that Haiti stuff is so depressing. They need to spade or neuter (whichever one it is) all of the women there so all of those children will not be living on the street." I'm glad she wasn't talking directly to me because I don't think I could have responded with anything more than a grunt, or moan, or hum.

Walmart Sighting: Woman walking with her coat open, packing a pistol on her hip. Steve saw her and then pointed her out to me. He practically ran in the other direction.

2 books I finished: The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Both were good books and worth reading. I probably liked the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo better because some of the technical stuff from the other book, about building a windmill, went over my head. I don't think I could really appreciate how amazing it really was.

We are supposed to get snow again starting Friday and going into Saturday afternoon. I don't think they really know how much we're going to get because it keeps changing. I think we'll have to just wait and see what happens.
